I love me a beautiful Saturday

Waking up after the kids sleep in till 9:30am, is a wonderful, wonderful thing.  Especially, when you wake up to a sunny, clear day!  The past several days have been cold, dreary, sleety (word?), and rainy.  Noooo, we couldn't get a drop, er, flake of snow here.  Dallas was stingy and kept it all.   I was reminded that it was ok, though, by the numerous comments about being stuck in the snow at the bottom of the driveway.  (*smirks to self*)  I've come to terms with it, now. 

So, in honor of Valentine's Day I will make chocolate covered strawberries (with the help of my boys) and my angel food cake with cool whip and strawberry layers.  I'll post pictures later.  I promise to return.  I know my track record isn't the best but seriously, who has time to be on the computer all day?  Me, I know.  I'm just lazy, ok!

The boys had their Vday parties at school last week.  We got super creative and made 'Crayon Hearts' for the kids and 'Clapping Hands' (w/tubes of lotion) for the teachers.  Here are a couple pictures of our creativity:

And by "our" creativity I mean "MY" creativity as my boys had about a 15 minute attention span for this.  I thought for sure making our crayons 'naked' and then breaking them in small pieces would be a hit! Not so much.   Anyway, they turned out well and I always enjoy experimenting with crafts other people thunk up.  As Miles' teacher said "why recreate the wheel".  Exactly.
