I'm talking about how my wonderful husband came through for me on Valentine's Day, as usual. He let the whooooooole day go by and after we had the kids in bed, I unsuspectedly walked into the kitchen to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers in water, a nice note, and a picture of Victor (w/ Romeo dressed up as a cowboy). *anxiously rubs hands*
What did the little note say? Ohhh, it said something about how wonderful I am (true), how beautiful I am (true, too), and how he couldn't sneak what he wanted me to have w/out me knowing (huh?). I open the paper and it's a printout to a Granite Co.
The conversation went a little like this: Victor, "I couldn't sneak that in, so happy valentines day" Me, "What? What are you telling me? Are you saying I can get my granite countertops?" Victor, "yep, you deserve it and I know it's what you really want." Me, *silly stare* "huh?" Victor, 'Yes, I've been asking around, got some approx. prices but I knew it wasn't something I could do without you" Me, "what?"
So yes, you can say I was taken a little by surprise. So once the greatness of granite sank in (approx 1/5th of a second later) I didn't waste any time! I've already had the granite people out today and here are the choices I'm faced with:
Now, these pictures don't really show the awesomeness of the samples, but it's the best I could do with my iPhone. I'm leaning more to the one on the left (Golden Butterfly) b/c I feel it's a little deeper, earthier, and richer looking. The one on the right (New Venetian Gold) is equally nice (Victor's initial choice) and also would match nicely with a little more of a neutral tone. It looks like it has a blue hue to it in the picture, but in person it doesn't.
You can see our tile backsplash there, it's a little pinky peach in color, so they'd both go. Our cabinets are the darker brown color in the sample on the left. Gah, decisions, decisions! Will keep you updated on the final decision... du du duuuuuuuun...

I'm kind of leaning toward the one on the right. I know you didn't ask for opinions but I couldn't resist!
ReplyDeleteI am welcoming and thankful for all opinions. I really need all the help I can get!!!
