Kindergarten ain't no punk (as we use to say in highschool)! They expect you to take your baby, leave him at the door, and go! No helping them to class, or helping them put away their blue folder, or making sure they know where their snack is, or making sure they put their backpack in the right spot. NOTHING! I mean, what are they trying to accomplish here? Responsible, self-sufficient people?
It got me to thinking... they probably won't let me take him to class in college either, huh? Or live at the dorms? Whatev.
Despite all the struggling I have had, Miles is doing great in kindergarten. He gets green stars for good behavior every day, he enjoys going to school, he "loves Ms. Turco 100", so overall I think he's off to a great start. Only 12 years to go, then college!
Below are some fun first day pictures for your blog viewing pleasure:
Picture on the left, he's showing off the lunch box that matches his super cool backpack given to him by his Gigi and Auntie Victoria. Picture on the right, a big boy action shot taken while walking to school! Check out that determination... Wow.
Last thing I'd like to mention... the heat. The heat I'm referring to is walking to pick your child up from school in 108 degree weather after standing in the sun waiting for the bus riders to get on the stupid bus, then waiting for them to walk your baby out so you can GET TO SOME AC before passing out.
I will say, I have a great group of neighbors to walk with. That makes it fun and I look less crazy when there is actually someone there to listen to me whine about the heat. Well that is until I start sweating like a fat hairy man... that's just embarrassing. Whatchagonnado?
