So, back to being well taken care of... Earlier I told you about how my wonderful hubby got me the gift of granite for Valentine's Day. Well, I obviously didn't waste any time! It's done and it IS magnificant! We've lived in our house for, well, it'll be 8 years this coming up October. We've been toying around with the idea of moving but the 'sense' in us tells us to wait a bit longer (don't hold this post against me if we decide to move next year, ok?). There are a few things that we'd like to have in our next home and that'd be a stretch financially for us now.
The next best thing... make what you DO have better. And that is just what we did. We had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and guest bathroom. We went with the color Giallo Fiorito after I took a drawer with me to 'The Yard' (that's granite people lingo, if you didn't know) and after looking at each slab 3 or 4 times I finally picked, much to the relief of the four men I had following me (granite guy, husband, and two sons).
So, fast forward to today and it is all complete. I'll stop rambling on about it now and show some pictures!!!
Here are some before shots:
Here are some during the madness shots:
And, drumroll please.... the after shots! (Are you drum rolling? Hope so b/c this is exciting stuff!):
Here's a shot of the boy's bathroom that isn't complete, the plumber is currently 45 minutes late on hooking up my faucet! Anyway, it looks awesome nonetheless and shouldn't be left unmentioned b/c of the bad time management of others:
So all this home improving has me on an organization kick... seriously, check out just my battery/catch all drawer that I organized yesterday, it IS my favorite drawer in the kitchen!
Bad Drawer Before:
Fab favorite drawer after (SHAZAM!):
Ok , there you have it... that has been the haps in my household for the past few days... I'm so glad it's over b/c I've learned I get extremely anxious with big home improvements. Now I've been cleaning and reorganizing and really enjoying my house. I'm happy with what we've done and even happier that we'll be staying here a bit longer enjoying it. Moving the insane amount of crap we've accumulated over the past 7 years scares the mess out of me, but that's a topic for later or maybe not b/c I'm ORGANIZING!!!
The transformation is amazing. What a difference a little granite makes. And btw...being well taken care of it a GOOD thing! We deserve it!
